The world's rising demand for shark fin soup is killing as many as 73 million sharks a year, according to a new study. The figure is three times higher than the official catch number reported to the United Nations and raises concern that the trade is having a devastating impact on our oceans and shark species worldwide. Also the environmental protection group Oceana released a report last month that showed Hong Kong had imported more than 100,000 tons of shark's fin from 87 countries last year - making it the largest such importer in the world.
